Capturing Moments, Crafting Memories
My love for photography was first sparked back in 2011 by someone I was dating at the time. She was a wedding photographer who told me I had a natural eye for it and encouraged me to pursue it further. That seed she planted means the world to me, and I’m forever grateful for her belief in me.
I’m Lewis Horsley, a Hampshire-based wedding photographer operating out of the Fleet/Basingstoke area. I specialise in relaxed, documentary-style storytelling. Over the past twelve years I’ve shot more than 750 weddings across Hampshire, Surrey, and the South of England.
My background is rooted in a natural, candid approach rather than heavy posing or staged portraits. I trained and built my business around capturing genuine emotion — the nervous excitement before the ceremony, proud glances from parents, first looks, laughter, and all the unscripted moments that make a wedding day feel truly alive. I like to describe my philosophy simply: “Let’s create timeless images that tell your story exactly as it happened — beautifully, honestly, and full of heart.”
On a wedding day my vibe is calm, reassuring, and quietly confident — the opposite of a high-pressure “stand here, smile now” photographer. Clients consistently say I blend into the background straight away, never drawing attention to myself while still being warmly present and helpful. I’ll fix a buttonhole, help with a dress, share a laugh to ease nerves, or gently guide people without anyone feeling directed. The energy I aim to bring is relaxed and friendly rather than loud or bossy. Reviews often describe me as “a calm presence who just got on and knew what images couples wanted,” someone who puts both couples and guests completely at ease so the day flows naturally.
Recent client feedback (including detailed reviews on major UK wedding platforms) echoes exactly what my ‘About’ page promises. Couples repeatedly mention how I’ve made them feel comfortable and like themselves, captured every detail without anyone noticing the camera, and delivered stunning, authentic images quickly — often with preview shots within 24 hours. One couple summed it up perfectly: “He blended in straight away with the vibe and the day… went above and beyond.” Another praised my “calm and easy nature” that put them at ease from the first moment, while guests commented on how approachable and friendly I was. The overall impression is that I feel more like a trusted friend on the day than a hired professional.
When it comes to second shooters, I always work with a friendly team of photographers who love turning everyday moments into keepsakes you’ll treasure. We focus on genuine smiles, natural light, and easygoing sessions that feel more like hanging out than posing.
With years of experience and a knack for making people comfortable, we guide you through every step. My goal is simple: help you relax, have fun, and walk away with photos that make you happy every time you see them.

Frequently Asked Questions
How would you describe your photography style?
My approach is rooted in natural, documentary-style photography. Rather than directing every moment, I prefer to observe and capture things as they unfold, the quiet glances, the laughter between speeches, the small details that make your day uniquely yours. That said, I'm always on hand to guide you through any formal portraits or group shots so they feel relaxed rather than stiff. The result is a collection of images that feel honest, warm, and timeless rather than heavily posed or over-edited.
How long will it take to receive my photographs?
For weddings, you can expect your full gallery to be delivered within two weeks guaranteed of your wedding day. I take care with every image to ensure the editing is consistent and the final collection truly reflects the feel of your day. You'll receive a sneak preview of a small selection within 24 hours so you have something to enjoy straight away. For smaller events and portrait sessions, turnaround is typically within a week.
Do you travel for weddings, and is there an additional cost?
Absolutely. While I'm based in Fleet, Hampshire, I regularly photograph weddings across the South East and beyond, including Surrey, Berkshire, West Sussex, and further afield when the occasion calls for it. Travel within roughly 40 miles of Fleet is included as standard. For weddings further away, any additional mileage or accommodation costs are discussed transparently when I put together your quote, so there are never any surprises.
How do I go about booking you for my wedding?
The first step is simply getting in touch via the contact page with your wedding date, venue, and a little about what you're looking for. If I'm available, I'll invite you for a relaxed, no-obligation consultation, either in person or over video call, so we can get to know each other and make sure we're the right fit. To secure your date, a booking fee is required. The remaining balance is due closer to your wedding day.
Do you take on a limited number of weddings each year?
Yes, intentionally so. I limit the number of weddings I take on each year to ensure every couple receives my full attention and the highest quality of work. This means dates can book up well in advance, particularly for popular venues and peak summer weekends. If you have a date in mind, I'd always recommend getting in touch as early as possible to avoid disappointment.
